“Collect Moments Not Things”

Things.. Things like teddy bears, roses, chocolates and pretty much every cute item will be advertised, and while it’s great that there are so many options to choose from to show how much you love and appreciate someone.

A spontaneous trip with loved ones, a romantic picnic, are all ways in which you can seize the moment and tell them just how much they mean to you.

Take time to enjoy life and create memories that you can be happy with. Collecting moments and not things means enjoying what you have and who you have in your life.

And remember,
People were created to be loved. Things were created to be used. The reason the world is in chaos is because things are being loved and people are being used.

While you are alive collect moments not things, earn respect not money and enjoy love not luxuries.. 🙂

  2. Thank you, A, for reading my blog: Your Reality – My Reality. That enabled me to find you blog. My wife (of 50 plus years) and I have traveled for these past 50 years and document it all with pictures, and she now uses those pictures – those memories – to bless our children and grandchildren.

  6. Your observation that things are being loved and people are being used is so true! We are so encouraged to be good consumers that need the next THING, which will often involve using people to get it.

  7. This is so true. I’ll bet you can’t remember what that toy was you just had to have for your birthday when you were 8 years old. And I’m guessing (maybe hoping) you don’t still have it. But you will always have the memory of an awesome birthday party you had, or a great trip you took with your family or concerts with friends. Memories my friend are the only things we will carry with us throughout our lives – good or bad.

  8. Your so right! It’s nice to have things! God provides us with things for use! We come into life with nothing and we will leave life with nothing! We are to use what God provides well! But we are to leave a legacy that serves others!

    1. Thank you, Mindy!
Your words are so straight forward, but I wonder many a times on why many of us find it difficult to understand that we will go from this world without anything. It is important to see what kind of legacy we leave behind. Thank you!

  9. I really was prompted to read your post as soon as I read the title. I totally agree that people read way too much into materialistic things rather that items that holds true worth. I came to this post or something that meant something by a wonderful writer and trust, I was not disappointed,

  10. That’s lovely! We all tend to be working to gather as many material goods as we can but somehow forget to live the moments. Infact I strongly believe social media can become two-edged sword if not used rightly. I remember as a child I used to visit places, explore it with parents and had so many memories and now most of our time is taken up on updating social media!
