“Collect Moments Not Things”

Things.. Things like teddy bears, roses, chocolates and pretty much every cute item will be advertised, and while it’s great that there are so many options to choose from to show how much you love and appreciate someone.

A spontaneous trip with loved ones, a romantic picnic, are all ways in which you can seize the moment and tell them just how much they mean to you.

Take time to enjoy life and create memories that you can be happy with. Collecting moments and not things means enjoying what you have and who you have in your life.

And remember,
People were created to be loved. Things were created to be used. The reason the world is in chaos is because things are being loved and people are being used.

While you are alive collect moments not things, earn respect not money and enjoy love not luxuries.. 🙂

      1. Great post. I am a bit of a collector of things but in my blog I am collecting moments and documenting my recovery and progress to happiness so it is a massive collection of moments. Your statement “The reason the world is in chaos is because things are being loved and people are being used.” is so profound and so true.

  1. A wise post and wonderful reminder to pay attention to what’s important. 🙂 I love this line: “People were created to be loved. Things were created to be used. The reason the world is in chaos is because things are being loved and people are being used.”

    1. God made people to be loved and things to be used, when you start loving things you start using people. Unfortunately, it happens, still I believe in the future holds a happy world. 🙂
Thank you for pausing, Ms. Wallace. 🙂

  2. Thanks for visiting Ankit! I agree, we so rarely take the time to truly enjoy the things and people God has placed in our lives. True happiness and contentment is only a moment away, the moments we collect in our hearts! God’s blessings to you and yours! Lisa

  3. Today is a moment
    Too soon it is gone
    So I treasure each second
    And adore each new dawn.
    Thanks for the reminder:
It’s the minutes we live –
    The intangible gifts –
They’re the best we can give!
    God bless you❤️😍

  4. The line about things being used but people needing to be loved makes me think of Pope John Paul II and his theology of the body. It is interesting, if you aren’t familiar with it, that you are mirroring his thoughts in a slightly different way. Good read!

    1. Hi Trish,
Firstly, thank you so much for reading out the post. Happy that it was good. 🙂
I am not familiar about Pope’s theology, but will surely try to read more from him. Wonderful if it was that close to his saying. 🙂
      Thanks again. 🙂

  7. I should definately make it a point to collect moments from now. I am not a person who collect things but I also haven’t been a person who collects moments either. This is the best advice

Hope the change will bring a lot of joy and happiness to you. Travelling helps us gain a lot of moments with are happy ones. Even solo trips do the same in a different way. 🙂

  8. “People were created to be loved. Things were created to be used. The reason the world is in chaos is because things are being loved and people are being used.” That is so true and you’re spot on with the consequences of not drawing near to got and savoring our moments. When we put God first in our lives we do tend to collect more moments, it’s a lesson I try very hard to instill in my son that people and time are much more important than things. Someday I want him to look back on his childhood and remember what we did not what he owned.

    1. I hope surely he will understand and will be on the right path with gods grace. 🙂
It is important not to worry about whats missing than to care about what we have with us. In a blink of the eye, everything can change drastically. So, we all should enjoy with what all we have. 🙂
      Thanks for writing down!

  9. What a life! It’s a dreary day here. I am cold but! It does not make a dent in the power of love from on high gifting beauty to each one of us. So glad our paths have crossed! 🙂
