Hi Ankit,
It is so sad that we as human beings have so many difficulties with seeing the beauty in ourselves. I am sure God sees us much differently than we do and He sees beauty where we, perhaps, can’t see anything. π Maybe, we tend to have the wrong perspective at times. Knowing that God is Spirit, His eyes look primarily at the human heart and its condition. He does not judge the book by its cover, so to say. π Even if some people are very beautiful regarding their appearance, they get older and their beauty withers like the grass. Just yesterday I found an interesting quote on Facebook and I thought I could share it with you and your readers on here, too. It reads,
βIf only our eyes saw souls instead of bodies, how very different our ideals of beauty would be.β ~Unknown
I really appreciate the likes you gave me on my blog, dear Ankit. π And I do know it is not the most polite thing to comment on a blog for the first time and to simultaneously link to one’s own posts, however, I dare it nonetheless π because I recently wrote a poem on that very issue you blogged about today. If you have time and are interested (don’t worry, it’s a rather short poem), here’s what I think about true beauty https://susanneschuberth.wordpress.com/2015/08/17/where-beauty-lies/.
Every blessing to you, keep on keeping on, and be who you are. β
Love β€
Susanne from Bavaria
PS
As you can clearly see, I tend to have some emoticon overload as well. XO

Hi Susanne,
I like the surcharge of the emoticons. They are an expression too. π
I just read your poem and it’s wonderful. I will surely be peeking into your blog and checking out on more. π
Wonderful a saying. Thank you so much for sharing this. π It has been the human tendency of finding beauty in skin and not in heart, but God is a very good reader of your heart. I personally feel, if you have a good heart you can win anything. π
There will come a day when we will love each other with all our heart and not mind. Believe me the time is near. π
Thank you again Susanne! It’s good to have you here. π

Susanne,
I liked what you said about God.
It made me think a little different on myself.
I don’t really know how to love myself. But God does.
And he is the highest authority.
Thank you!

You’re very welcome donutsplace (nice name, BTW). Thanks for your encouraging words!
I do not really know how to love myself, either. Instead, I have the tendency to always see what is NOT perfect instead of being grateful for what I have… Feeeew! What a difficult life!! π

The name came about in a kind of funny way. I don’t know why I used it. π I do like making donuts too though.
My daughter-in-law had a son that was 3 at the time. It was the first time we had met. They were trying to teach him how to say my name, which was Donna.
All that would come out was donut…lol. So I got stuck with that name. At least it is better than nana…lol. that reminds me of a banana. π

Ankit, I was missing your posts! Whenever you write something short and sweet, it carries such a powerful message just like this one. π I think God must be sad when he hears us say this. We have to love ourselves and if we don’t know how then it’s our job to learn. Relationships are like magic mirrors, a reflection of what you put out there so if you love yourself, you radiate love and attract love. I especially love your last line “love yourself, you’re beautiful” β€

Sometimes its tough to love oneself because you’ve been through so much.
Remember you were strong enough to deal with the hard moments. It’s time to shower love on your own self as everyone needs to feel cared and loved.
Look for the crevice from where the light comes. π
Eventually you will be the best. And you have always been wonderful angel of God. π

I had a very strong experience two years ago, when a lady asked me to look at myself in the mirror and said I was looking at the person who loves me. I didn’t know what she meant and got confused until I realised that she was talking about me looking at myself. And that’s when I realised how much I rejected and judged and criticised myself. How I couldn’t even bear to look at myself. It’s been a very long and painful way towards the simply feeling of self-love and acceptance and I’m still not quite there yet. But optimistic π

Can understand. Sometimes you get too much stuck in your own life that you’re not able to look upto yourself. You start being so hard at yourself that you don’t find me time.
You’re very luck to have people who have tried to realise you that you were missing ‘you’ in your life. I’ve always felt that if you love your own self, you’ll be loved.
Slowly and gradually you’ll find yourself and rejoice each and every moment.
Wish you happiness. Smile. ππ
