When we, human beings now-a-days, achieve something, the satisfaction is momentous. Because in the next moment we want something else, something more.
Sometimes it is too long a wait! That when you get what you wanted, the worth gets reduced. But yeah, keep on believing. It can be the only thing you lived for.

Just sitting around and waiting for things to happen all by themselves hardly ever works. You got to walk/run towards your betterment. Instead of waiting for something grand to happen. Enjoy the little things and happiness in life. That will make you more content.
